Based on feelers from the Presidency, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed, will replace Ibrahim Idris in acting capacity as the Inspector General of Police.
This came to the fore as Idris completes his tour of duty in the Nigeria Police.
According to available information, Mohammed is from Lafia in Nasarawa State and is at the moment at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies in Kuru, near Jos, Plateau State.
Born on November 9, 1961, he enlisted into the Nigeria Police in 1986 and had before now served as the Commissioner of Police in Enugu State and AIG Zone 5 in Benin, Edo State.
He has also had experience serving in the peacekeeping force of the United Nations.
