“I will order NDLEA to grow and export marijuana” – Presidential aspirant Omoyele Sowore

African Action Congress (AAC) presidential aspirant Omoyele Sowore has said he intends to export marijuana to other countries if elected Nigerian leader.

“Instead of arresting marijuana smokers while politicians abuse cocaine in their homes, Nigeria should be exporting weed to cure cancer,” Sowore said during an interactive session.

“Some of the best weed in the world are grown in Ekiti State.

“We have to start taking care of our weed so that we can also contribute to the GDP of the world,” Sowore said.

Recent studies show medical marijuana has many health benefits. Activists around the world are pushing for governments to legalise the substance.

United Kingdom, according to a United Nations report, is the world’s largest exporter of legal marijuana. Sowore argued that Nigeria could join the list of weed exporters as a way of diversifying its economy.

Sowore said, if elected president, he would send a memo to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to maximise Nigeria’s weed potential.
