Akhator was unveiled on Wednesday after overcoming Visa issues that delayed her arrival to the Spanish club.

The two-time Afrobasket champion spent last season with Besiktas Women Basketball averaging 15.1 PPG, 11.4 RPG and made 5 double-double in 36.2 MPG at the EuroCup Women.

She led Besiktas to a quarter final finish in the Turkish League losing to eventual winners Fenerbahce.

Akhator who was also instrumental for Nigeria at the World Cup in Tenerife, Spain last year and in retaining their Afrobasket title in Dakar last month, was the second signing made by Perfumerias Avenida in May.

Speaking at the unveiling in Salamanca, Avenida President Jorge Recio said: “It was one of the first signings we made when we finished last season. We have been following her up for a long time and she will surely be a good addition to the team. We can not forget the World Cup in Spain where Akhator was the best player for Nigeria and did not also disappoint in the recent Afrobasket Championship in Dakar last month.”

“I am very happy to be here I could never imagine that in my third year as a professional player I would be in Salamanca,” as reported on elnortedecastilla.es
