The privilege means that the seven former lawmakers have become automatic ministers.

The former lawmakers include Gbemisola Saraki from Kwara State, Godswill Akpabio from Akwa Ibom, Hadi Sirika from Katsina, George Akume from Benue, Olorunnimbe Mamora from Lagos, Tayo Alasoadura Ondo, and Chris Ngige from Anambra.

A Senator from Akwa Ibom State Albert Bassey attempted to make a comment on the nomination of Akpabio but his moves were rejected by Senator Lawan.
