The National Executive Council (NEC) NBA has suspended the Ikorodu Branch Chairman, Mr. Bayo Akinlade as the Chairman of the NBA Ikorodu Branch and Member of NEC.
The suspension took place at the ongoing NBA- NEC meeting in Abuja.
The above decision was sequel to a report by the 2nd Vice President, Dr. Foluke Dada and a motion to suspend the Ikorodu Chair for his refusal to halt its branch bye election as directed by the national body of the association.
Consequently Mr. Akinlade is to face disciplinary committee for disobeying the National directive with regards to the supplementary election of the Vice Chairman against directive of the national.
The NBA-NEC went ahead to void the purported election with a directive that the new Vice Chairman elect should not and must not conduct herself as the vice Chairman of Ikorodu branch.
It went ahead to appoint the petitioner and former vice Chairman purported to have been removed by the acting chairman of Ikorodu Branch.
Recall that the response of the Ikorodu Chairman to the directive issued by the national body was earlier reported in some sections of the media.
