Head coach of Spanish giants Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane, has suffered another injury blow barely 24 hours after watching his team play out a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Real Valladolid in La Liga as it was confirmed that Colombian attacking midfielder, James Rodriguez, will be sidelined for some time.
Rodriguez returned to the club earlier this summer at the end of his two-year loan spell at German champions Bayern Munich, and was hoping to prove his worth at the club having played for 57 minutes in the game against Valladolid but would now be saddened by this setback.
That is because medical tests at the club showed that the 28-year-old attacking midfielder would be out with a muscle injury to his right soleus, to hand the club another worry on the injury front as Los Blancos were without club record signing, Eden Hazard, who is recovering from a knock.
“After the tests carried out today on our player James Rodríguez by the Real Madrid Medical Services he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the right soleus. His recovery will continue to be assessed,” Real Madrid wrote on its official website on Monday.
Karim Benzema thought he had scored the winner for Real Madrid in the 82nd minute only for Valladolid to stun majority of the 63,000 spectators at the Santiago Bernabeu to silence when Sergi Guardiola equalised in the 88th minute.
The result left both teams on four points after two games, two points behind the early pacesetters FC Sevilla and Atletico Madrid, the only two teams in La Liga left with a 100% record.
