Having already confirmed Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard as new arrivals, Real Madrid are being made to wait to announce the signing of Ferland Mendy. It had once seemed as though the French international would be the first of the three to be made official, but his International commitments are temporarily preventing him from finalizing his move to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
Mendy’s participation in France’s European Championship qualification has stood in the way of the move being completed, as he hasn’t been able to undergo the required medical examinations.
It is being reported that head coach, Zinedine Zidane would give Marcelo the freedom to decide whether or not he wants to stay at the club ahead of the impending signing of left back Ferland Mendy.
The Brazil international will go down as a Los Blancos legend, having won La Liga four times as well as earning another quartet of Champions League trophies, but he has been frequently linked with Juventus over the last year or so.

The transfer of Mendy will be wrapped up once the full-back is finished with France as he can then take his tests and sign his contract in Madrid. Only the results of a second medical are stopping Real Madrid from making Ferland Mendy their third major signing of the summer.
The defender has suffered a lot from injuries in the 12 months so Madrid are keen to make sure he’s fully recovered from all of them. Madrid will have a medical on Wednesday as Mendy is currently away on international duty with France.
If the results are positive, Mendy will become the third major signing of the summer at Madrid after Jovic and Hazard. Rodrygo and Militao are the two other new arrivals who will join up for preseason training.
Marcelo would play a back-up role to the incoming Mendy if he decided to stay at the Bernabeu, but the Spanish giants are happy to ‘put the ball in Marcelo’s court regarding his future’.
