Bayern Munich remains “fully convinced” of Callum Hudson-Odoi’s ability and remain in talks to sign him from Premier League club, Chelsea, according to the German club’s Sporting Director, Hasan Salihamidzic. The German side’s latest comments about the 18-year-old is bound to upset Blues boss Maurizio Sarri after the Italian branded Bayern’s relentless approach for Hudson-Odoi as unprofessional and disrespectful.
The Bundesliga side has not been discouraged in their attempts to land the teenage sensation and have made several bids for him, but Chelsea keeps stalling on Bayern’s most recent offer of £35 million in the hope of convincing Hudson-Odoi to stay at Stamford Bridge, while also looking to take the case to FIFA if there is any sign of “tapping up”. Regardless, Salihamidzic says the Bavarian side is not giving up on landing their top target just yet, despite Chelsea’s attempts to discourage them.
“We want to sign the player,” he told Sport Bild. “I am fully convinced of his abilities. We are in talks with Chelsea. But we have many leaders in our team. That’s why it would not be a problem if no player arrived in January. We have to find a good mix between young talents and experienced leaders who carry the team.”
Can Chelsea keep hold of Hudson-Odoi or will Bayern succeed in getting the teenager like Dortmund did Jadon Sancho from Manchester City?
