Nigerians Reacts As Masquerade Is Set On Fire In Honour Of Alaafin Of Oyo (Photos)

A lot of Nigerians have reacted to the viral of an Ogun Masquerade, Danafojura pulling  a fire stunt  at an event attended by residents of the state at Ojude Oba on August 13.Here is the viral video below;

In honour of Awujale, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Alaafin of Oyo came with a masquerade called ‘DANAFOJURA’ . Danafojura is a masquerade that come out to greet any long reigning king like Awujale. The masquerade was set on fire but no harm was caused.

The viral photos and a video making rounds online captured moment the Masquerade whose name means “Burn alive and walk away” got set on fire. Displaying his stunts, a group of men rallied round the powerful masquerade as they  set it on fire. The masquerade walked out unscathed which received a loud applause from onlookers.


The video had sparked mixed  reactions from social media users after it was first shared on the the internet. Most of which expressed utter shock and many pleaded with the Nigerian Army to come around and beat this particular masquerade like they did with one last week.

Recall a viral video of some Nigerian solider  beating a masquerade mercilessly? Nigerians are pleading the army to come do the same thing to this particular masquerade.  Watch video below;
