Bayern Munich currently negotiating with Chelsea over the sale of Callum Hudson Odoi

Bayern Munich are still in talks with Chelsea over the potential signing of England youngster Callum Hudson Odoi.   According to Ed Aarons of the Guardian, the Bundesliga side lodged a bid of £35 million for the 18-year-old winger earlier in the January window, although he remains a Blues player at this stage.

Speaking about the Chelsea starlet to SportBild (h/t Goal), Salihamidzic was open about Bayern’s admiration of the England youth international and said talks are ongoing with the Premier League outfit regarding a transfer. “We want to sign the player,” he said. “I am fully convinced of his abilities. We are in talks with Chelsea. But we have many leaders in our team. That’s why it would not be a problem if no player arrived in January. We have to find a good mix between young talents and experienced leaders who carry the team.”

Chelsea have made it clear they are unhappy with the way in which Bayern have pursued the youngster, with manager Maurizio Sarri accusing the German giants of lacking respect following a previous public declaration of interest from Salihamidzic, per Goal’s Ryan BensonAccording to Adam Crafton of MailOnline, the player is keen to make the transfer and will not sign any extension the Blues offer him as a result—Hudson-Odoi’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2020.

Chelsea appear determined to keep hold of the winger, and that’s not a surprise, as he is rated as one of the brightest talents in English football. The issue for him until recently has been getting regular games at Chelsea. The Blues have tended to rotate between Eden Hazard, Pedro, Willian and even Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the wide areas, meaning Hudson-Odoi has been limited to cameos.

Since the interest from Bayern emerged, the youngster has become more prominent in the first-team squad and started the recent Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Tottenham Hotspur. The temptation to switch to Bayern would still be understandable, though. Not only are they an enormous club, but other young players from the Premier League have also moved to the division and flourished, one of which is Hudson-Odoi’s England youth team-mate Jadon Sancho

An offer of £35 million does leave Chelsea in a challenging position, especially if Hudson-Odoi doesn’t have any interest in renewing his Blues deal. After all, for all the promise the youngster has shown, he’s yet to establish himself as a regular in the XI.

Nevertheless, Hudson-Odoi has all the tools to go to the top of the game, and if a decision is made to sell, it’s one Chelsea may come to regret

Liverpool’s super striker set for a sensational move away from the club

Daniel Sturridge is set to end his six-year stint at Liverpool with MLS hoping to bring him to the States. The Liverpool striker, 29, can talk to foreign clubs as he is in the final six months of his Anfield contract.  And MLS outfits are on red alert that the England striker may consider a move away from the Premier League.

Sturridge is down the pecking order under Jurgen Klopp and has started just two Premier League games all season. He attracted interest from China a year ago but wanted to concentrate on getting back on track on Merseyside. Liverpool could still offer an extension but Sturridge is now a squad play with little chance of regular games.

New York City are looking for David Villa’s replacement after the Spaniard’s departure to Vissel Kobe in Japan. They are among the teams who can afford a package that would attract Sturridge’s interest.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set to sell Man Utd’s unwanted Star

Manchester United are prepared to let Marouane Fellaini leave this window with AC Milan and a couple of Chinese clubs interested in him.   Fellaini has made just two substitute appearances in Solskajer’s six-game winning start to his United tenure, with the Belgium international out of favour under the caretaker boss.

Despite the midfielder signing a fresh two-year deal last summer, it is understood United are willing to let Fellaini leave this month – but only if the price is right. Under Solskjaer, Fellaini has completed just 31 minutes of first-team action and was not even in the 18-man squad that beat Tottenham 1-0 at Wembley on Sunday.

Image result for Fellaini

AC Milan, Porto and Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande have all identified Fellaini as a transfer target, with United said to want in the region of £15million for the versatile 31-year-old. With 18 months left on his current deal, United are reluctant to let Fellaini go on the cheap and would look to reinvest funds from his sale in the first-team squad.

Image result for Fellaini

Fellaini was signed by former United boss David Moyes for £27million from Everton in 2013 and, despite criticism from fans, was also highly regarded by his successors, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho had a particular soft spot for Fellaini, utilising his physical and aerial threat when necessary, but Solskajer’s different approach and style of play has no room for the player, whose United days are numbered.

Embarrassing! Chelsea’s flop Alvaro Morata gets rejected by another club

Alvaro Morata hopes of joining  Atletico Madrid hangs in the balance after the Spanish side told Chelsea they are only ready to take him on a loan deal.  Atletico opened talks with Chelsea this week over the possible signing of Morata but Atletico are, at this point, minded only to take the player on a short-term loan until the end of the season.

Chelsea, who still face a major battle to keep forward Callum Hudson-Odoi at the club and are struggling to recruit a striker of their own this month, want a clearer financial commitment from Atletico.  Chelsea signed Morata for £58m in the summer of 2017 and he has scored nine goals this season but manager Maurizio Sarri has lost confidence in the forward due to his inconsistent form.

Morata scored twice in the FA Cup against Nottingham Forest at the beginning of January but has since been left out of games at Tottenham in the Carabao Cup and at home to Newcastle in the Premier League.  Chelsea are also attempting a loan move for AC Milan forward Gonzalo Higuain. Yet even to secure the loan move and cover Morata’s salary, Atletico need to move out two players – Gelson Martins and Nikola Kalinic – to make a deal happen.

As things stand, Atletico, who are also well-stocked up front with players such as Antoine Griezmann and Diego Costa, are not prepared to spend major cash on a permanent transfer or make a commitment to a signing in the summer.

La Liga president welcomes former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho to the League

La Liga President Javier Tebas has said former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is welcomed should he decide to make a return to the Spanish topflight.  Mourinho ended Barcelona’s three-year dominance of La Liga under Pep Guardiola by guiding Real Madrid to the title in the 2011-12 season, and is remembered fondly at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez reportedly wants Mourinho to return to the club, despite appointing Santiago Solari as head coach until 2021. “It would not be a bad thing for La Liga,” Tebas told Catalan radio station RAC1, when asked about a potential return to Spain for Mourinho.

“He is a fantastic coach who has many qualities and it would be a great spectacle, it would be fantastic to have him here, but who knows what club would it be.” Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has also been linked with a return to La Liga at either Barcelona or Real Madrid.

“Neymar returning to Spain? We want as many stars as possible of course and he is one of the global stars,” Tebas added. “But the important thing for us is to have a strong brand, like England’s Premier League, and they have not had Ballon d’Or winners in many years.”

Chelsea set to extend the contract of Barcelona target

According to his agent, Chelsea are set to offer one time Barcelona target David Luiz a new contract as a reward for his fine performances this season.  Luiz has returned to the Chelsea starting line-up this season having been sidelined during previous boss Antonio Conte’s final campaign in charge. The 31-year-old has played 21 Premier League games under Maurizio Sarri – more than double the amount he managed last term – and is hopeful of earning a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

Recent reports had suggested negotiations had hit a stumbling block due to Chelsea’s reluctance to commit to more than one-year contracts for players over 30, and the defender’s own wage demands.  However, Luiz’s representative Kia Joorabchian insists he is working with the club to ensure his client’s second spell in west London is extended.

“Contrary to some reports we are in a very amicable situation with Chelsea,” Joorabchian told The Sun.  “We are trying to work out a deal for David Luiz because he wants to stay, the manager wants him to stay and so does the club.

“I’m sure something will be worked out.” Luiz returned to Chelsea from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2016 having spent two seasons in the French capital. The Brazilian defender made 33 Premier League appearance as Chelsea won the title in 2017 but slipped down the pecking order last term, starting just 13 matches in all competitions before Sarri replaced compatriot Conte.

Barcelona set to complete their third signing of the window

According to reports in Spain, Barcelona have identified Uruguayan striker Christian Stuani who currenlty plays for Sporting Girona as the cover for Luis Suarez.   Barcelona have decided on which striker they want to bring in to strengthen their attack following Munir El Haddadi’s departure to Sevilla. The man who the blaugrana’s technical department have settled on is Girona’s Cristhian Stuani.

The 32-year-old Uruguayan (who has an Italian passport) is mulling over an offer to renew with Girona. Meanwhile at Camp Nou, officials have been frantically searching for a striker who is familar with the Spanish top flight and who will be able to perform to the required level from Day One. Sources have told AS that Ernesto Valverde is interested in bringing in Stuani – the third top scorer in LaLiga with 12 goals, five fewer than Lionel Messi and two less than Luis Suárez, his fellow countryman and friend.

Barça find themselves at the risk of being understaffed in attach and Eric Abidaland Ramon Planes hope to resolve the situation within the next two weeks. The team has entered a critical part of the campaign and there’s no time to lose. Curiously, it was Planes who hired Stuani when he was Sports Director at Espanyol. The Uruguayan forward did well with the blanquiazules even though he ended up playing in a wider position in Cornellà, which is not his favoured role.

Price for Stuani

Stuani‘s release clause was set at 15 million euros and he is a highly-respected and well-loved player at Montilivi. Director of Sport Enric Cárcel has been trying to tie the player down to a new contract. Ernesto Valverde is also a fan of the Uruguayan’s finishing skills and his experience. On an international level, Stuani has played in the last two World Cup finals with Uruguay as well as other major tournaments including the Copa América. If he takes up Barcelona’s offer, he would also make his debut in the Champions League – a dream for any footballer.

BOOM! Tottenham set to sign Barcelona star as replacement for Harry Kane

According to reports, Tottenham are said to make an emergency signing by taking Barcelona forward Malcom on loan as a potential replacement for the injured Harry Kane and the departing Son.   Kane must wait until the swelling goes down before he can go for a scan to determine the extent of the problem.

Tottenham eye Barcelona flop amid Harry Kane injury worry

But fears are growing he could have damaged ligaments which could put him out of action for at least three weeks. Spurs are already short of firepower with Heung-Min Son joining up with South Korea at the Asian Cup yesterday. He will miss Tottenham’s next five matches if his country goes all the way to the final, leaving Fernando Llorente as the only fit striker at the club.

Image result for Malcom

Llorente was made available for transfer this month, with old club Athletic Bilbao interested, but the Spaniard now been taken off the market. Spurs are currently scouring the market for reinforcements up front and are ready to revive their interest in Nou Camp outcast Malcom. The Brazilian, who can play anywhere in a front three, was on their radar last summer before he joined Barca from Bordeaux.

But his £36.5m transfer has not worked out and the Spanish giants are willing to let him go this month. Malcom, 21, was even offered to Chelsea as part of a swap deal for Willian last week, alerting Spurs to his availability. Kane’s ankle injury, suffered in Sunday’s defeat to Manchester United, is his fourth in three seasons.

Good News for Chelsea fans and Alvaro Morata

Alvaro Morata looks set to stay at Chelsea after Sevilla ended their interest in him because he is too expensive.  The LaLiga outfit were among a number of clubs keen on bringing the former Real Madrid striker back to Spain but that interest seemingly ended over the weekend with the signing of Munir El Haddadi.

The club’s sporting director Joaquin Caparros has now spoken out on their attempts to sign the Spaniard; pulling out of talks when they learned of the financial demands on the table.

Standard Sports understands Sevilla made Chelsea an offer worth £5million to loan Morata with another £35m to be paid in the off-season, which was rejected.

“Sevilla are an appealing team for a lot of players and Morata wanted to come,” Caparros told reporters during Munir’s unveiling. “We had talks but when we started talking about fees, we quickly realised that it was impossible and we gave up. “We focused on those who have come, with whom we are very happy. Munir was wanted by a lot of other teams but he wanted to come with us.”

Chelsea to sell Eden Hazard for a price less than what Barcelona paid for Coutinho

According to reports, Chelsea will demand a fee in the region of  £100 million for Eden Hazard should the Belgium captain request for a move. Hazard hopes to find out whether or not Real will make a big bid to sign him in the summer by the end of this month, with Chelsea also keen to get the issue resolved.

Image result for Eden Hazard

Despite the forward claiming he is prepared to wait until the end of the season before deciding whether or not to sign a new contract with Chelsea, both parties favour an earlier resolution. Hazard is said to be hoping to find out whether Real Madrid will try and sign him in the summer this month.  If the 28-year-old gets the assurances he wants from Los Blancos then he will tell the Blues he expects to leave. Real are considering raids for both Hazard and Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen. They would be replacements for Gareth Bale and Luka Modric at the Bernabeu. The astronomical fee Chelsea will demand for Hazard could prove a real problem for Real Madrid though.

However, one potential solution would be to use Mateo Kovacic, currently on loan at Stamford Bridge, as part of a swap deal. Despite Chelsea trying to sign a striker this month, sorting out the future of Hazard remains a priority. Last month Maurizio Sarri gave an update on the winger and talks with the Blues.

“You know very well that Eden is very important for us, like every special player,” the Italian said.  “It’s up to him. I think the club is available to sign a new contract immediately, but it’s up to him if he wants to renew or not. I don’t know. “I want Eden here, of course, but I want him here if he wants to stay here.

“I know very well that there are discussions between the club and the manager of Eden every week, so if there is something new, the club will call me immediately.” Chelsea return to action in the Premier League on Saturday when they travel to the Emirates to take on Arsenal (5.30pm)
