Wow! See the new Abuja serene hospitality facility

In response to that, there are quite a number, but this report unveils a new addition to these spots in the FCT

There is no reason to doubt the fact that properly managing hotels and meeting the high expectations of customers are huge tasks. Those in the industry, undoubtedly, face series of challenges in the provision of services at that level. However, there are still a number of other external factors that determine how profitably and efficiently hotels are run.

It has been revealed that government’s patronage has remained a major factor that keeps Abuja hotels in business, directly or indirectly.

Apart from hosting services, including restaurants, bars, cruise lines, parks and gardens, hotels happen to be a strongest feature in hospitality industry, forming a major attraction for both residents and travelers, who rely on the hotels for their comfort and business activities, among other reasons.

In the past 20 years, there has been an increased effort by both local and foreign investors to tap into hotel business in the country. Across the country, several of such hotels dot the landscape. Many of them also contribute to the development of their host communities, including providing employment for the people, among other benefits.

But there is need for more of these hotels. For instance, LEADERSHIP Weekend investigations reveal that usually at festive seasons, tourists become stranded as the available hotels in town are usually fully booked forcing them to go as far as satellite towns to take up hotel accommodation.

When it comes to hospitality industry, Abuja, the federal capital territory, leads the pack in the business in Nigeria. The city boast a number of high class relaxation centers. One of such is the five-star luxury hospitality conglomerate, The Wells Carlton Hotel and Luxury Apartments that will soon be formally unveiled to the world.

SHOCKER! President Buhari Finally Accept He has Failed With the Economy

The president was far from being in a good mood when state governors met him at the state house on Friday. In just 30 minutes he was able to hit the nail on the head  as regards the present state of economy.

President Muhammadu Buhari has told governors of the 36 states of the federation that the economy of the country is in a bad shape.

The President met with the Governors at the Presidential Villa, Abuja for about 30 minutes today.

Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Abdulaziz Yari who briefed State House reporters at the end of the meeting, said the President told them to tighten their belts.

The Governors met the President after an extended session of the National Economic Council (NEC) presided over by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.

Yari had told journalists that they thanked the President for releasing the Paris club funds to them without any discrimination.

Asked what was the President’s response, he said: ” The President responded by thanking and telling us that the economy is in bad shape and that we have to come together and think on the way forward,” he said

In attendance at the NEC were David Umayi (Ebonyi),Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (Kano), Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Kashim Shettima (Borno), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Emmanuel Udom (Akwa Ibom), Simon Lalong (Plateau), Abubakar Sani Bello (Niger), Gboyega Oyetola (Osun), Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Nasiru El-Rufai (Kaduna) and Yahaya Bello (Kogi).

Some Deputy Governors were also in attendance including the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Mannir Yakubu

The president also had a dialogue with the governors on the  lingering disagreement between the organised labour and state governments on the proposed N30,000 national minimum wage.

The News Agency of Nigeria observed that some of the governors were represented by their deputies at the meeting which lasted for about 30 minutes.

President Buhari, had, on November 19, held similar meeting with representatives of Nigerian Governors Forum at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where the same issue of national minimum wage was deliberated upon.

Representatives of the Governors Forum, who met with the President over the issue then, included governors of Zamfara, Lagos, Kaduna and Enugu; while the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, was also in attendance.

The Amal Pepple Tripartite Committee on the Review of National Minimum Wage had, on November 6, submitted its report to President Buhari where it recommended N30,000 as the new national minimum wage.

While receiving the report, the President expressed his commitment to ensuring the implementation of a new national minimum wage and pledged to transmit an Executive Bill (on National Minimum Wage) to the National Assembly for its passage within the shortest possible time.

President Muhammadu Buhari has just told state governors that the Nigerian economy is in bad shape.

The Chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Abdulaziz Yari, disclosed this to State House correspondents in Abuja.

Yari, who is the Governor of Zamfara State, and his colleagues, met with Buhari briefly at the Presidential Villa after the National Economic Council meeting, which took place on Friday.

According to him, the President informed the governors that “the economy is in bad shape and that we have to come together, think and rethink on the way forward.”

The Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) had resolved to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari again over the issue of new minimum wage.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the forum took the decision at its last meeting for 2018, presided by the chairman of the forum and governor of Zamafara state, Abdulaziz Yari, on Thursday night, December 13, in Abuja.

Legit.ng gathers that Governor Yari, however, declined speaking with journalists after the meeting.

But the NGF head, media and public affairs, Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, told newsmen at the end of the meeting that the governors resolved to meet with the president on Friday, December 14.

He said: “It was a very short meeting, of course the very last one for the year, the meeting welcomed the newest governor in its midst, the Osun state governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.

“The meeting resolved to meet the president on the issue of the minimum wage which hopefully will be resolved before the end of the year.

“The governors are also meeting the president tomorrow to thank him for the way he has handle the economy.”

Recall that the governors had offered to pay N22,500 while the federal government want to pay N24,000 against the N30,000 being demanded by the organised labour.

The forum at its last meeting set up a committee to meet with Buhari to canvass its position, which it stated was not reflected in the report of the tripartite committee submitted to the president.

Oyetola earlier in an interview with newsmen commended the meeting, saying it offered the governors opportunity to share experiences and best practices.

Some of the governors at the meeting were those of Edo, Lagos, Osun, Kaduna, Kwara, Kano, Plateau, Kebbi and Gombe states.

The governors of Bauchi, Benue, Adamawa, Rivers and Nasarawa were represented by their deputies.

It was previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari and some state governors met in in the president’s office at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to report, the president and the governors met to discuss the issue of the N30,000 minimum wage, which has been generating controversy in recent times.

The governors set up a committee to meet with the president. Governors of Lagos, Kebbi, Plateau, Bauchi, Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi, Enugu and Kaduna states are the members of the committee meeting with President Buhari.

Kaduna Crisis: Angry El-Riufai Shocks The Entire Nation, Reveals What He Will Do To Dunamis Pastor, Paul Enenche

Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna, says he will sue Paul Enenche, senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), over an alleged incitement.

El-Rufai said this on Thursday when Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, paid him a visit in Kaduna.

Over 50 people including a traditional ruler were killed in a religious conflict in Kaduna in October.

Reacting to the development in a video clip that surfaced online, Eneche had said the governor knew about the abduction and death of Maiwada Galadima, paramount ruler of Adara Chiefdom, because he invited him.

The pastor said he was told that there was a move by the state government to bring all chiefdom under an emirate system but Galadima rejected.

But el-Rufai said he has never invited any chief except when they write that they want to see him.

The governor said he could depose any traditional ruler or abolish any chiefdom in the state under the law.

“The recent crisis we had in Kaduna metropolis in Kasuwan Mageni was largely as a result of hate speech. The second round of crisis was because rumours started circulating that the abducted chief of Agada had been killed and within an hour 22 people were killed and it was totally false,” he said.

“By the time you create a lie that this the case of 22 people, consequences will follow and even though the ransom was paid and he was free before he got to three road, the kidnappers shot and killed him.

“What was the story? The story circulating was that I invited the chief to a meeting and told him that his chiefdom will become and emirate and he disagreed with me and when he was abducted, it was implied that I arranged the abduction. This is what started the crisis and it is totally false.

“I have never invited any chief except when they write to see me. I can depose him. Why will I threaten him? I can abolish his chiefdom or emirate under the law. But this was the story circulating and it raised tension and many people were killed. The programme you launched against fake news is commendable and should be sustained.

“There was a clip going round, a pastor in Abuja that said I was the one that arranged the abduction and murder of the agom of Kachia. I have filed a complaint to the IG. We intend to bring him to Kaduna to try him.

“The clip was circulated in Kaduna and he is in Abuja, we will get him. We know the agents of this kind of careless statements and what is most unfortunate is that the guiltiest people that people that we assume should be responsible, pastors, imams and very important people in the society.”

He described fake news and hate speech as fundamental problems confronting the society.

“It is not only the president that was said to be cloned. I am also someone from Mali. Somebody went to my Wikipedia page and changed my birthplace to Bamako, Mali. That the real el-Rufai died when he went on exile in 2009,” the governor said.

“These things are becoming common, you have a whole range of gullible people. We must do something otherwise we are all in danger.”

When we think of Christmas, there are many things that might spring to mind, like delicious food, opening presents and feeling very chilly. One thing that many people look forward to is singing Christmas carols.
But why do we sing them and where did they come from?

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former Head of State Yakubu Gowon and Pastor Enoch Adeboye, set aglow, the presidential Christmas Carol held at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja. Aside Adeboye, the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, many state governors attended the Carol. The Carol tagged “Christmas Praise Concert”, was also attended by Wife of the Vice President, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha.

After Jesus was born and his teachings began to spread to many parts of the world, his followers wanted to encourage everyone to become Christian. But they didn’t really approve of all of this noisy winter partying. They wanted everyone to celebrate the Christian message properly by singing about the birth of Jesus, so they put new Christian words to the old favourite songs.

The first Bible reading taken from Luke 2:18 –18, was read by Mrs Victoria Gowon, wife of the former Head of State, Gowon, while the second reading taken from Isaiah 7:14–15, 9:6–7, was read by Gov. Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State. The Gospel lesson taken from Luke 2: 1–7, was read by SGF, Mustapha. In his Christmas message, Adeboye thanked God for peace in Nigeria and prayed God to continue to protect the nation and bring lasting peace to it. He prayed for God’s mercy on the nation and committed the 2019 general elections into God’s hands.

In a special intercession, Pastor Seyi Malomo, Chaplain, State House Chapel, prayed for Nigeria and its leaders especially, President Muhammad Buhari, who would mark his birthday on Dec. 16. The congregation was thrilled by renditions from various choir groups, including Aguda House Choir, Aso Villa Chapel Choir, Aso Villa Chapel Children Choir, Plateau Unity Choir and Praise Chorale, Lagos, among others.

The idea of celebrating in December with special songs has been around for many hundreds of years – even before Jesus was born. But of course they didn’t call them Christmas carols back then, because Christmas didn’t exist! In Roman times, when it was dark and cold, people used to cheer themselves up with a winter festival called the Saturnalia. It was a long, noisy party, with lots of wild dancing and singing.

What;s your idea of christmas carol and whats your favourite christmas song?
