BLOODY REVENGE!!! APC Set To Block Atiku From The 2019 Presidential Debate, May Move Debate To The United States Of America
Dr Abdulateef Abdulhakeem, Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs, on Saturday called on the residents to support the APC Governorship Candidate, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who, he said, would build on Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s achievements.
Abdulhakeem solicited the support at the first anniversary celebration of a political group called “Itesiwaju Eko Foundation”.
The occasion held at Ejigbo, Lagos State.
He urged Lagos residents, particularly President Muhammadu Buhari’s loyalists, not to allow the rift among some politicians to deter them from supporting APC in the state.
He said that re-election of APC in Lagos State would facilitate infrastructure development of the state.
Abdulhakeem said that the political group was already mobilising Lagos residents in favour of the APC candidate.
He said: “Nobody should make an attempt to destroy the good works of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
“Ambode is fully with Sanwo-Olu; nobody should misrepresent what is happening in government.
“The entire state cabinet is fully with Sanwo-Olu.”
Abdulhakeem, who is also the Director, Conflict Resolution of Babajide Sanwo-Olu Independent Campaign Organisation, called on all APC members to reconcile any differences.
He said: “Understand that power and authority are in the hands of God. We must work together.
“If anybody says he wants to vote for Buhari and not vote for APC candidates at the National Assembly, then he has not voted for Buhari.
“We need a National Assembly that would be on the same page with the Federal Executive Council to move the country forward.
“Also, if you vote for Sanwo-Olu and you do not vote for members of the House of Assembly, you have not voted for him because the legislature is an apex institution and an important organ of government.”
Abdulhakeem, therefore called on APC faithful to come together for continuity of the party.
He said: “Chief Bola Tinubu was succeeded by a performing governor in the person of Babatunde Fashola, who was again succeeded by another performing governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
“I assure you that Sanwo-Olu will also be a great successor to complete the good works of Ambode.”
The President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Alhaji Najeem Usman-Yasin, has expressed optimism that the Memorandum of Understanding between the union and INEC would ensure hitch-free 2019 general elections.
Usman-Yasin said this while speaking with newsmen in llorin on Saturday,
He said the motive was also to guarantee safe, smooth and early movement of electoral materials to voting centres across the country.
He disclosed that all the state union chairmen were invited to the signing of the MOU ln Abuja to ensure actualisation of credible and reliable elections in 2019.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the MOU cautions members of the union against partisanship among others.
The NURTW president said the union took cognisance of the the riverine areas and captured them in terms of using boats for the early transportation of electoral materials.
To avoid delay in the transportation of materials, however, he said all the union vehicles would be on stand-by for onward movement of electoral materials to various destinations, 24 hours before the exercise.
He appealed to the Federal Government to ensure that all roads were made motorable before the general elections for smooth transportation and movement of the electoral materials to voting centres.
The union leader also advised drivers that would handle movement of electoral materials to abide strictly by all rules and regulations on the highway.
A former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Alhaja Sinatu Ojikutu, on Saturday said President Muhammadu Buhari had demonstrated high level of integrity in piloting the affairs of the country.
Ojikutu who spoke with newsmen in Lagos, said that the president was doing his best to put Nigeria back on the track of honour and progress with transparent leadership and a fierce anti-graft war.
She said: “It is unfortunate that in spite of the president’s sincere efforts to advance the country’s development, some powerful Nigerians were hell-bent on stopping his re-election in 2019.”
Ojikutu alleged that the main grouse of the forces was that they could no longer do business as usual under Buhari as they were used to cutting corners to corruptly enrich themselves.
She added that these ‘corrupt elements’ believed that their interests would be further hurt by Buhari’s emergence in 2019, hence resorting to `dangerously desperate’ political actions to stop him.
She said: “The drums are beating; the polity is heating and the corrupt are at work. Everybody is afraid that with Buhari continuing, whatever he or she has done will be eventually exposed.
“Even some around the president are not saints because they are tainted too. So deep down them, they know Buhari’s emergence means trouble.
“We have a president with integrity, who has tried to make things work and who is still trying to make things work.”
According to her, some people believe they are not making it under Buhari and that they will stop at nothing to stop him.
She said: “In what way are they not making money?
“Because they had been used to a system in which things were not done right.
“I have been told to my face that “Madam, you have been nominated for so, so, so and so but people objected that your coming will be their nemesis because you won’t play ball.
“Why must we play ball before we can make it in this country? These people are heating up the whole place just because it is no more business as usual and for that, they want to stop him in 2019.”
Ojikutu said the desperate way in which politicians were going about their ambition was a threat to the peace and unity of the country.
She added that the do-or-die politics currently being played by some political leaders was creating a semblance of uncertainty about 2019.
Ojikutu urged political leaders to remember that they do not have another country besides Nigeria and that an atmosphere of chaos profits no one.
She called for the creation of Truth, Restitution and Recovery Commission to serve as a platform for political leaders to discuss the way forward for the country and give account of their past deeds.
Ojikutu said those who had corruptly enriched themselves could also return whatever they had taken from the country through the commission.
She said that South Africa did a similar thing immediately after Apartheid and that the commission helped to heal old wounds and strengthen unity in that country.
On the 2019 elections, Ojikutu urged Nigerians to vote wisely as those who had looted the country in the past were now parading themselves as Messiahs.
The former deputy governor expressed the belief that Buhari would address challenges in the economy if re-elected, saying his administration was working hard to correct the mistakes of the past.
YOU ARE THIEVES!!! Confusion In APC Over Primaries – Pay Us Back Our Money, Aggrieved Aspirants Declare
Some of the aggrieved aspirants in different parts of the country on the platform of the APC are insistent on taking the party to court. This is notwithstanding the interventions of the peace and reconciliation committees of the party.
The angry party members are demanding for a refund of the fees they paid for purchasing the nomination forms. This is despite the intervention of the peace and reconciliation committees constituted by the party and dispatched to the six geopolitical zones of the country. According to Leadership, the disgruntled party members are also demanding for a refund of fees they paid for the purchase of nomination forms.
A source close to the committees said the aggrieved aspirants are asking for some form of compensation from the committee as a prerequisite to their loyalty to the party ahead of the forthcoming general elections. The source, however, noted that the committees are not predisposed to the demand for compensation since it is was not within the scope of their mandate.
“Only the leadership of the party can guarantee any form of compensation because this was not part of the terms of reference of the committees,” he noted. Speaking on issues that would militate against total attainment of peace within the party, deputy national publicity secretary of the APC, Yekini Nabena, has stressed that the NWC must find a way of compensating aspirants who lost out in the contest and that true reconciliation must be sought and achieved in time before the 2019 general elections.
His words: “In this reconciliation, what are you giving? There is no doubt that people are aggrieved, but the good thing about APC is that there are people who love the party and the president genuinely. But there are people act purely for their selfish interest. For those who are acting on selfish interest, what do you want to give to them in the process of this reconciliation? “You must have something to give to the next person for him to fall in line.
But if you have nothing to offer him, what do you expect? So, when you set up peace and reconciliation committee, you must make sure that you achieve results. If I wanted to be a senatorial candidate and I did not get that, I would be looking out for whatever you want to offer me. “The committees must have a package for such people from the party or the national chairman. Look at what is happening in Rivers state right now. We have some people that genuinely believe in the party and the president but right now, they have gone to other parties but are still working for the president.”
Recently, an APC chieftain, Abubakar Sidiq Usman, dragged the party to court over its decision to appoint Lanre Isa-Onilu as the substantive national publicity secretary of the party. In a suit with file number FCT/HC/BW/CV/142/18 and filed at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Usman, who contested the position in the June 23 national convention, is asking the court to declare him as the substantive spokesperson of the party having emerged as runner-up behind Bolaji Abdulahi, the former party spokesman.

Details of how President Muhammadu Buhari applied and got bank loan of N260, 000 to build his first and only house in Kaduna, have emerged, with some Nigerians questioning whether his Spartan life of 1984 when he served as head of state is still the same as the current Nigeria’s president.
The bank document shows clearly that Buhari had resorted to taking a bank loan to be able to build his first house in Kaduna, having not been able to raise enough cash for such a project through all other means.
After applying for the cash, which came with interest, Buhari, a Major General in the army at the time, accepted all the terms and conditions imposed by Union Bank, which provided the N260,000 loan to him and laid out the conditions attached to the offer.
In the loan document dated June 1, 1984, and addressed to Major General Muhammadu Buhari, Head of State and Commander-in-Chief, Dodan Barracks, Lagos, the bank made it clear that the loan was approved for the building of his house.
The letter signed by one M. D. Yusif, who was the manager of Union Bank at the time, the bank said: “Dear sir, we are pleased to advise that the bank has agreed to renew your facility as follows: Building Loan-N260,000, has been marked for review on the 2nd of March 1985 but in accordance with the normal banking practice; it is repayable on demand and subject to review or withdrawal at any time the bank’s option.
“Interest will be charged for the time being, at the rate of 11 percent per annum with monthly rents. Commission on turnover will be charged at 20 percent.
“The facility has been renewed subject to the following conditions: All the security items have been holding before now continue to support this lending and ordinary account should be kept strictly on creditor’s basis while loan outstands.
“Kindly signify your acceptance of the terms and conditions of the renewal by signing and returning the duplicate copy of this letter,” M. D. Yufif, said.
But as it appeared that Major Gen. Buhair was desperately in need of the loan, he quickly signed and returned the letter to Union Bank, which immediately released the cash to him for the building project in Kaduna.
Although this gesture has given out Buhari as a man of Spartan nature, many Nigerians are unconvinced if he would have take the loan today, given that he has made a lot of money from being the president of Nigeria for almost four years and surrounding himself with people who are said to be money-conscious and ready to do anything to get rich quick.
However, those who claim to know Buhari very well, praised him for his Spartan nature, saying he remains the same man that he was many years ago despite presiding over billions of Nigeria’s cash.
A Kaduna-based politician, Aliyu Musa, who claims to have know Buhari from childhood, told newsmen in Kaduna on Friday that Buhari remains incorruptible despite all the posts he has held and the passage of time given his austere background and fear of God not to dip his hands into public till.
“We, who are Buhari’s friends, are proud of him and we will continue to vouch for him as an honest, contented and sincere leader who is not driven by ill-gotten wealth and that is why he went for commercial bank loan to build his first house instead of looting the public treasury as most leaders would have done.
“We know that despite being Nigeria’s president at a time when everybody wants to steal and enrich themselves, Buhari will remain steadfast to his creed not to steal a kobo from the peoples treasury,” Musa stated.
But second republic lawmaker, Junaid Mohammed, told Saturday Vanguard that Buhari might not be corrupt by taking money from the public till but has thrown himself into the ring by surrounding himself with questionable elements, who do not believe in his anti-corruption war.
“We want Buhari to do away with nepotism and retainer ship of a cabal that does not work in the interest of Nigeria because corruption extends beyond stealing public funds to conferring undue advantage on a particular set of people and tribe at the expense of other groups,” Junaid said.

The forum of the 36 state chairmen of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has rejected the court order issued by Justice Hussain Yusuf which declared Prof. Jerry Gana as the presidential candidate of the party and sacked an ex-governor of Cross River State, Mr. Donald Duke, as the SDP standard bearer.
In a statement made available to journalists on Saturday in Abuja, which was signed by the forum’s Chairman; Hon. Oke Idawene and Secretary, Abubakar Dogara, they described the court ruling as “an act of gross injustice unconstitutional, and null and void”.
The statement reads in part: “the Party shall abide by the unanimous decision taken by the party’s delegates and the mandates of the 36 State Chapters and the FCT when they convincingly and overwhelmingly voted for Mr. Donald Duke in the October 6th October 2018 national presidential primaries of the Party.
“That mandate given to Donald Duke as the party’s presidential candidate is sacred, supreme and so remained sacrosanct as the will and ultimate decision of party members and leadership which no court can abort.
“The Forum said it will use all available legal and judicial process to protect its mandate and ensure that the will of the people prevails.
”We wish to use this medium to assure the general public, especially party members to remain calm and steadfast in their support and goodwill for the party and its presidential candidate towards the actualization of the vision of the Party to rescue Nigeria through the 2019 General elections.
“The SDP is working within the ambiance of the law to vacate the order of the Abuja court where Prof Gana is trying to pervert and arrest justice through his unlawful claims.
“Against this backdrop, our legal team has filed an appeal against the order of the High Court at the Appeal court in Abuja.
“Therefore, we want to appeal to all party members across the country to continue with their party activities and campaigns with utmost decorum, decency and orderliness.
“We shall communicate to all our members, details of our campaign programmes in the days ahead.”
