Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Alerts The World Of The Buhari/APC Military Style Election, Today, In Kwara State, Totally Condemns The Process

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has totally condemned the bye-election that held in Kwara State, today, citing heavy intimidation by Security Agents on the order of the All Progressives Congress, APC, coupled with thugs, who were employed to manipulate the entire process, in favour of the APC, allegedly.

The Senate President however, thanked the people of Ekiti/Oke Ero/Isin/Irepodun who came out to vote, despite the siege laid by the Security Agents and Thugs.

The statement reads in full:

We thank the people of Ekiti/Oke Ero/Isin/Irepodun, who came out to vote today, defying the heavy intimidation and the siege laid by the Security Agents and thugs, invited into the 4 LGAs by the APC.

The public should note that today’s #KwaraByElection was simply between the PDP and Security Agents, plus APC. This was due to the heavy deployment of Police, Soldiers, and other Security Agents, who gathered to support the APC, and harass PDP Leaders and supporters.

This is the first time that elections in Kwara State will be held under such charged, tensed, and militarised conditions. We had INEC Officials complaining about their own safety; and PDP supporters were brazenly intimidated, which resulted in low turn out of voters.

It is important to reiterate that ahead of the 2019 elections, such open displays of intimidation are sending wrong signals. Our democracy is being undermined with this misuse of our nation’s security apparatus. #KwaraByElection

Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki.

2019: Atiku Set To Win 6 Million More Votes, As Former VP Dedicates Ticket To North-East Region

Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, arrived Yola, the Adamawa State capital on Saturday, and was welcomed by a crowd consisting of supporters of various political parties.

His supporters were only allowed to queue at the area from the airport gate to PZ roundabout, as officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and security operatives barricaded the entrance into the airport, and allowed only selected persons access.

The former vice-president was driven in a convoy to his Dougirei residence, where he addressed a crowd on the need to vote for the PDP.

“My victory at Port Harcourt is your own victory and the North-East. But the task is far from over; you have to vote for PDP from top to bottom. Vote for me, our governorship candidate and other candidates of our party,” Atiku said.

Immediate past chairman of the PDP in Adamawa, Chief Joel Madaki, confirmed to newsmen that the crowd was constituted by members of various political parties.

He also dismissed the claim that President Muhammadu Buhari was more popular in Adamawa, stating that those who thought so “must be day-dreaming”.

“From the calibre of the people you see in this place, it clearly tells what Adamawa people will be doing on February 16 next year,” he said.
Our correspondent sighted several aides of Governor Jibrilla Bindo at the airport and later at Atiku’s residence.

According to a statement on Saturday, by the Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation, the former Vice President will start the campaign with an address to Nigerians via the social media platform, Facebook, at noon.

Post-Nigeria gathered that launching a Presidential Campaign on Facebook, has never happen in Nigeria, or any part of the world before now.

Atiku is scheduled to inaugurate his policy document during the address.

The Campaign Organisation, stated that the PDP Candidate would in his address, present his vision for Nigeria, and his action plan to achieve it as encapsulated in his policy document.

The document, according to the Organisation, will promptly be uploaded on Atiku’s website, for all Nigerians to access at no cost.

The Organisation explained that Atiku’s decision to start his campaign with the unveiling of his policy document, is to reiterate his commitment to run an issue-based campaign.

The intention, it added, is to take the policy directly to Nigerians, and to register the candidate’s belief that it will take the collective efforts of every Nigerian to rebuild the country.

It further disclosed that, that is why the Organisation wants Nigerians to access the policy document directly, and ultimately take ownership of it.

The statement read: “Our campaign offers a simple message: united, the people of Nigeria can begin anew, creating a prosperous and secure future, and a better life for every Nigerian.

“On the first working day of the campaign, the PDP and its Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, will put forward his plan to get Nigeria working again.

Great Tension In Rivers State As Gunmen Open Fire On APC Governorship Candidate, Tonye Cole, Governor Nyesom Wike’s Camp In Trouble

The Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, has alerted the public, that its Governorship Candidate in the 2019 elections, Tonye Cole, and his team, were attacked at Bakana, in Kalabari land.

This was made known in a statement signed by the Chidi Lloyd, the Director-General of Tonye Cole’s Campaign Organisation, which was made available to Post-Nigeria, on Saturday.

The statement revealed that it took the Security detachment attached to the APC Candidate, to repel the attackers from advancing to kill Tonye Cole.

The statement reads in full:

Blood bath was averted at Old Bakana, as gun men alleged to be sponsored by a PDP serving Commissioner in Nyesom Wike’s government, from the area, opened heavy gun fire on Pastor Tonye Cole and his team, as they were carrying out ward-to-ward consultation in the community.

On arrival at the community and as is usual with the team, Tonye Cole, and other Leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on the delegation, had gone to pay a courtesy call on the Traditional Head of the community, prior to commencement of the exercise, when heavy gunfire erupted from all directions of the community.

Pastor Tonye Cole immediately showed courage and leadership, by ordering his team members to remain calm indoors, while the security detachment attached to the team were allowed to repel the advancing armed attackers.

It took a while before the marauding gunmen were repelled by the security men and the area secured. Subsequently, Pastor Cole directed that the exercise must go on at the designated arena, after which the team departed to Bakana Town, to continue with the exercise.

The Tonye Cole Campaign Organisation and APC, vehemently condemn the dastardly act of today, reminiscent of what was carried out in 2015, against the APC and its Governorship Candidate in Okrika, and other similar incidents carried out by PDP, and their gunmen across Rivers State.

We recall, that just instead of the PDP to tackle its internal crisis that has snowballed into open confrontation between them in Ikwerre Local Government, found it convenient to blame APC members. We alerted the world that the PDP Leaders were merely pointing at the APC to cover up their internal turmoil. We also emphasised the fact that it was a ploy to prepare the grounds for them to commence another round of bloody attacks on APC members in the State. In just about 24 hours, our fears have manifested.

We would like to reiterate that the Governorship Candidate of our party, Pastor Tonye Cole, is a God-fearing gentleman, whose only driving force to lead Rivers State, is hinged on his conviction that every aspect of Rivers society is broken, and needs urgent mending. He believes that if our youths are given jobs, they will not make themselves available for such criminal enterprise, as was exhibited today.

Let us serve notice that forces of darkness behind today’s violence and their allies, will never be able to deter, intimidate, or stop Pastor Tonye Cole and his supporters from the task of providing the enabling environment to mend and pull our society out of backwardness, poverty, and from the abyss of bad governance.

We call on the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Director of State Security Service, and other Security Agencies, to thoroughly and diligently investigate the incident of today, and all such incidents, with a view to bringing to justice those directly and indirectly behind them.

Sporadic Gunshots Rent The Air In The South-East, As Police Officers Embark On A Bloody Protest, Block Major Highway

Scores of Operatives from the Counter-Terrorism Unit of the Imo State Police Command, on Saturday, blocked the Owerri/Orlu road, in the State capital, in protest.

The Operatives who were demonstrating, caused traffic gridlock and panic in the area.

Shooting sporadically into the air, the demonstrators wore masks to hide their identities, and set bonfires on the highway.

Narrating their ordeal to Newsmen, one of the Policemen said: “We have been pushed out of our quarters on Orlu road, by the Management of the Federal Medical Center, Owerri.”

“To make things worst, our Commander supported the act, and no alternative place has been provided for us.

“We moved into this place in 2015, after our quarters in Nekede was marked for renovation. But this base 7 of CTU of the Nigeria Police Force, started operation in this State, in 2011.

“We have done more than enough to ensure safety and security in this State. This is not the best way to treat us, considering the kind of work we are doing in this State.”

“As we demonstrate, our families are stranded. Bulldozers are destroying the quarters. Our property, documents, credentials, and other personal belonging are outside.”

“We demand better treatment. We are human beings working for the betterment of this country. We should be treated like human beings, not like animals.”

In reaction, the State Command Public Relations Officer, Orlando Ikokwu, revealed that alternative quarters have been provided for the protesting Policemen.

The Command Spokesperson, stated that the State Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, had instructed the CTU Commander, to ensure that his subordinates settled in the new quarters, as quickly as possible.

Ikokwu noted that the protesting cops failed to understand that the quarters where they were ejected from, was not supposed to be their permanent quarters.

He pointed out that the protest would not deter the Command from fighting crimes, and making the yuletide period a crime-free one.

Adams Oshiomhole Storms Out Of President Buhari’s Office, Schools The Entire Nation On His Next Move

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole, has dismissed allegations that he collected bribes of about $80 million, to manipulate the outcome of the party’s primaries in some States.

Recall, that some aggrieved Aspirants are accusing Adams Oshiohmole of collecting various sums in bribes, to twist the primaries.

However, Adams Oshiomhole, who spoke to State House Correspondents after a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, at the Presidential Villa, described the allegations of corruption against him, as reckless insinuation.

“No tree that will bear fruits that will grow in Sahara desert, and the fact the Publisher of SaharaReporters himself is a Presidential Aspirant; we would soon find out the difference between Sahara and its Reporters, and a green forest and its Reporters.

“The unfortunate thing here, however, is that people, who specialise in libels, they take advantage of our peculiar judicial system.

“When I was a Governor in Edo State, they published all kinds of things against me. At a point I decided to go to court, and my Lawyer told me that I have to be ready to enter the witness box to make my case – whether I was ready to go through that humiliation.

“What is in the Governorship? Before I became the Governor, I entered the witness box and I know after being Governor, I can still go back there one day. So I went there and I won the case. They awarded damages in my favour.

“But by the time you want to check the process of the guy who libeled you and so on, he sells himself, everything put together, he could not compensate for by legal fee, not to talk of really mitigating my paying, as a result of the judgment’’, he said.

On the forthcoming campaign programmes of the APC, the APC Chairman revealed that the party’s campaign for the 2019 Presidential election, would focus on character and integrity of the key Candidates.

According to the APC Chairman, the APC is fully ready to flag off the campaigns soon.

He said: “We are fully ready, we are done with our primaries and filled our nominations.

“As you know, INEC still has a window between now and first of January, to deal with issues of substitution. As of campaigns, we are ready.

“We are going to announce the date and programme for our campaigns. My idea of kick-off, will be the day we will do our first Presidential rally, where Mr. President as our Candidate and other Candidates, party Leaders, will assemble in a venue that will be agreeable to all of us.

“There will be two sets of messages. One, on what we have done in the past, without failing to remind people of where we were before, what we are going to do in the next four years, and a couple of things we believe we will be doing differently.

“President Buhari, if compared to the rest of the Candidates, there is no basis to compare day and night. The real issue in this election is not going to be religion. It is not going to be about ethnicity.

“Central to the issue and given our past experience as a country, we know that what makes a difference, is the character, the issue of integrity of the Candidates.’’

According to Adams Oshiomhole, the campaign is going to be focusing on the character and integrity of those who want to govern the country.

KWARA ELECTION!!! Thugs Snatching Ballot Boxes On The Strict Order Of Powerful Abuja Politician, Allegedly

Emerging report from Kwara State, revealed that political thugs loyal to one of the parties contesting today’s election, have started snatching ballot boxes in Polling Units across Oro, in Irepodun Local Government Area, as sorting and counting of votes get underway, in the ongoing Ekiti/Oke-Ero/Isin/Irepodun Federal Constituency bye-election.

The thugs are allegedly acting on the order of an APC Chieftain and Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who hails from Oro, and has a record of losing at his Ward, and in the entire town, in all previous elections.

Post-Nigeria sources says this is not unconnected with his unpopularity and disconnect from the people.

“Lai Mohammed has always been a Lagos-based Politician, and has no connection with the people at the grassroots.

“Lai Mohammed is however, desperate to win in Oro for his party, APC, in order to boost his political profile before President Buhari. He was also given marching orders by his boss, Bola Tinubu, to deliver Oro for APC”, Post-Nigeria source stated.

Clash Of The Titans: Bukola Saraki, Lai Mohammed, Go Head-To-Head In A Bloody Battle Of Supremacy, Today

It will be a test of popularity and acceptance today, being Saturday, for the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, and Senate President, Bukola Saraki, as they battle for the control of Kwara Politics, in the bye-election for Irepodun/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency.

Post-Nigeria could recall that the seat became vacant, following the death of Princess Funke Adedoyin, a few months ago.

Before now, President Muhammadu Buhari had charged the All Progressives Congress, APC, members in the State, headed by Lai Mohammed, to take back the State from Bukola Saraki, who defected from the ruling APC, to the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Although, Lai Mohammed, being the highest office holder in the APC from Kwara State, comes from Oro, Irepodun Local Government Area, which is within the Federal Constituency in contest, Saraki, who is highly influential in the State, would prove that he remains in control and can command a huge followership, even after dumping his former party.

Already, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has has distributed sensitive electoral materials to all the four Local Government Councils, where the exercise will take place.

Tension has however, gripped residents of the State, following the alleged arrests of some PDP officials and members in the Constituency, by men allegedly in Police uniform. .

Besides, scores of the PDP members in Ajase-Ipo in Irepodun Local Government Area of the State, had been declared missing, in the wee hours of Friday night, ahead of today’s bye-election.

However, the State Police Command has deployed 1,500 Policemen, to maintain law and order during the bye-election, which will be a straight fight between Saraki’s PDP Candidate, Mr. Saheed Alatise, and Lai Mohammed’s APC. Candidate, Raheem Olatunji.

Both parties have been throwing barbs at each other, resulting in the palpable tension in the State. Besides, there have been accusations and counter-accusations on plots to rig the election.

The PDP camp had accused the APC Leader in the State of planning to “import” political thugs from Lagos and Osun States, to manipulate the exercise; with the State Party Chairman, Hon. Kola Shittu, also alleging plots by the Federal Government to arrest their party Leaders, so as to make way for the ruling party, to muscle through and rob them of victory.

The APC Leadership on the other hand, had accused the PDP of planning to use uncollected permanent voters cards to rig the election.

The State Chairman of the APC, Hon. Bashr Bolarinwa, told Journalists that the party advised the INEC in the State, to check such illegal plots, so as to have a free and fair bye-election.

President Buhari, The Entire APC Shown The Exit Door, As Atiku Abubakar Delivers His First Major Campaign Promise, Ahead Of 2019 Elections

The Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has said that he will sell the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, and retain just 10 percent of the company for the Federal Government.

Atiku made this disclosure in an interview with The African Report, a monthly publication.

Atiku, who presided over the National Council on Privatisation, during his tenure as Vice President, noted that the NNPC was supposed to have become more profitable by now.

On whether he would sell the NNPC and keep 10 percent shares for the government, he said: “Yes, I would want to go ahead. There is no doubt about that.

The government should have a very minor shareholding. Nigeria is in dire need of funds to develop its infrastructure and other sectors of the economy.”

Atiku added that Nigeria ought to have been producing far more than two million barrels of oil per day.

Speaking further on the privatisation of the nation’s oil company, he said: “Without a stable regulatory framework, the oil and gas companies will find it difficult to invest more in Nigeria.

“At the time, we pushed for the passage of the new law. We expected that Nigeria would be able to export up to four million barrels per day, but here we are, still at less than two million barrels per day.”
