During the daily Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 briefing on Thursday, May 14, 2020, the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, said that the Chinese medical team that arrived the country a few weeks ago were not guests of the Federal Government.
According to him, the Chinese delegation “are not guests of the federal government but CCECC, a construction company.”
He however stated that the Chinese team made up of 15 people who arrived in the country on April 8, came to ” share their experiences in fighting the COVID-19″ according to a report by the Premium Times.
Ehanire went on to further explain that not all of the individuals in the Chinese team are doctors. “I want to explain that first of all, I think not all of them are doctors and I heard that some of them are technicians but they are staff of CCECC.”
He also stressed that he does not want to be asked about their whereabouts.
