Over the years, millions of lives have been lost to hands of the insurgent group, Boko Haram and Nigerians will never forget the Kidnap of the century that shook the world in 24hours. Sadly, very little progress has been made in the rescue of the abducted girls and currently another, Leah Sharibu is still in Boko Haram custody. Another recent attack has left the presidency and Nigerians worried. More details below
It has been reported that on Sunday, the terrorist group, Boko Haram invaded a village at Chibok, wreaking havoc, exactly five years into the abduction of 276 girls from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok.
According to Sahara Reporters, a witness said that activities to commemorate the fifth anniversary were still ongoing on Sunday when residents learnt of the invasion of Kwarangullum village by the insurgents.
The village district head, Mallam Bulama confirmed the incident saying he couldn’t ascertain the number of people who met their untimely end and those who were injured.
Just last week, on the 4th of April 2019, some insurgents who were arrested and captured by the Nigerian Military, turned a new leaf. They called on Nigerians to show them mercy and forgive them. They made the call at a graduation de-radicalisation exercise and vocational training organised on Wednesday in Gombe State.
One of them, Ababa Ali, a 62-year-old pleaded that Nigerians should accept them back as they were heavily deceived. admonished the Nigerian youths to steer clear of any kind of trick that may resort them to joining the Boko Haram terrorist group.
